Phumelele Cafu has signed a co-promotional deal with Total Sports Management and will make his highly-anticipated return to the ring in the early summer months.
The South African flyweight is the current custodian of the World Boxing Federation International title and is unbeaten with a record of 4-0-2.
Cafu, from Duncan Village in Eastern Cape, joins up with Stephen Vaughan’s promotional outfit and will work with them in Europe, while continuing to be looked after elsewhere by Fantastic 2 Promotions which is run by Elias and John Tshabalala.
“Cafu is an exciting fighter and someone I believe we can push through the flyweight rankings and into some exciting fights,” said TSM head honcho Vaughan. “In his six fights, he’s already been scheduled for 10 and 12 rounds and picked up the WBF international title along the way.
“We will announce his next fight soon, after him being inactive for a year-and-a-half, and it’s going to an exciting title fight.
The southpaw made his debut back in May 2018 and all of his wins to date have been inside the distance, but the aforementioned current World Boxing Federation International champion in the eight-stone division has been out since September 2019.
