Total Sports Management regrettably announces several late changes to the Maltese Boxing Bonanza card on Friday.
The show will be screened exclusively live globally on Fightzone TV, promoted by Total Sports Management for the Vaughan Group in association with Dennis Hobson for Fight Academy, and sponsored by ShortLetsMalta.com and Crypto Millions.
Lucy Wildheart was originally set to headline the card in a vacant WBC International female featherweight title clash against Spanish-based Dominican Enerolisa de Leon (6-4-2, 2 KOs), with a trio of Maltese talents in the shape of Christian Schembri, Brandon Borg and Theon Camilleri featuring as part of the supporting cast.
And although Schembri, Borg and Camilleri are still boxing on the bill, against Bulgarian and Polish opposition respectively, Wildheart’s title tilt has been replaced by a six-round contest against Edina Kiss of Hungary.
“It’s been a very testing and challenging time, trying to get this show to where it is,” said promoter Stephen Vaughan. “We’ve had numerous problems due to COVID-19 restrictions but we were determined not to lose the show and the opportunity to bring Fightzone to the island.”
The live broadcast begins at 7:15pm UK time and will kick off with three Maltese amateur contests.
“The unfortunate circumstances surrounding the show have, however, awarded us the opportunity to not just show the best of Maltese professional boxing but to also give six amateurs the chance to perform on a global platform like Fightzone.”
